Gingersnap creations color challenge : Red and black

This is my 4th and last make for august as a Visiting Artist at Gingersnap Creations.
The task for this months color challenge is to make something with the color combo black and red, inspired by the beautiful poppy paintings of Georgia O'Keefe's.

I've used a few techniques on this card.

I've used patternpaper from Maja Design and Bazzill - black

I started with the red background. Inspired by Nathalie and her online workshop I used glimmermist and paper towel on 300g aquarell paper.
I then printet the digital frame from Pam Leforsdesign and image of the poppies from Sketchingstamper on to transparent.
When the transparent was fastened to the background I colored the poppies with Tim Holtz  alcohol ink - Red Pepper ( first time I used this paint, loved it ).

I then painted the metal corner from Kort og Godt with black Staz On.
The sentiment is from Norsk stempelblad.

Wishing everybody a creative and fun week. I'm of playing with my new EcoGreen Acrylic paints, just arrived from Craftbarn England.
Look at all the yummy colors.

*Isn't She Lovely

City crafter challenge blog week 18 , Isn't she lovely.

Random Redhead Challenge - 3D projects

This is my third make as visiting artist for Gingersnap Creations. I've choosed to alter a miniature chest. The chest is also from one of my marked findings this summer.

Here is the chest before I've started to cover it.

I've used white gesso, decoupage glue, paper from a chinese book, dabber paint - pearl. I've bought the images ( glansbilder ) from Victoria Palace at Fanø, Denmark. The drawer handles are vintage leather buttons. The foots are also made of vintage buttons.

I've made the flower after the tutorial from Tim Holtz book. I've used grungeboard, Tim Holtz dies, scrap paper and some Glossy accents.

backside of the chest.

The left side of the chest.

Hopefully this gave you some inspiration to create your own 3D project for the Gingersnap random redhead challenge - 3D project, and remember you have 4 weeks before the challenge close.

Julekort

Gingersnap Creations - Spicy supply challenge - Use Paint

This is my second make as Visiting Artist at  Gingersnap Creations.  For this months spicy supply challenge you are going to use paint. I've gone for acryl paint. I've gone for the more cutesy kind of creation than the artsy type of creation this time. There is a reason for that. I've made som childrens gifts and I wanted to keep it simple. As I'm on holiday I haven't brought ALL my supplies with me, so when I come home I will add some metal charms and other gems to make them even look better.
I bought 4 of these doorsigns at Scraporama-Strømmen this April, I had some x-mas presents in mind.
The acrylic paint and Gesso I bought at a local art supply store in Esbjerg, Denmark.

This first one have the image Ian from the Greeting farm. I've colored him with Promakers. The star is made of grounge paper and a stamp from Artistic stamper (I won the rubberstamp plate as hompage artist earlier this year at Gingersnap Creations). I've paintet it with Dabberpaint-snowcap.
. The golden keyboard is from a chocolate packaging. I've used letters from Jillibean soup( colored with the blu acrylic paint ), Prima and Thickers. The rope looking ribbon is from my findings.

The next one also have an image from The Greeting Farm, this time it's digital and called Dressy Ebony. She is also colored with Promakers. Pattern paper from MM. All letters are Thickers. My little Kitty is bought from another crafter at a marked in Brørup, Denmark. The beautiful pink ribbon is a gift from Lauren. The silverstar is something I've had in my stuff for a few years, don't know where it's from, luckily i brought it with me to Denmark :-)

On the last one, I've used another digital image from Greeting Farm - Chibi Punk Boy . Patternpaper from My Minds Eye. The star and letters as above. The grounge skeleton head from Tim Holtz is colored with the blue acrylic paint.

Hope you enjoyed this and maybe inspired you a little to find your paint and start playing with it.
I'm off packing all my stuff, going home on friday and have a few things that need to fit in the car.
So long.

Yellow, Orange and Red

Inspired by the great artists!

This is my first make as a visiting artist at Gingersnap Creations.
The Chestnut Theme Challenge this month is famous painters. A few months back I bought a rubberstamp plate from Creative Expressions called Vintage Artist. The Michelangelo sentiment from this plate is my inspiration for the canvas I've made for the challenge.
First I had white Gesso on my canvas, then added molding paste to create texture, this had to dry before I added one vintage crocheted dolie from my findings the other day. I covered most of this with Claudine Hellmuth multi-medium - matte. I left it to dry overnight. The next day I added different blue Distress Ink with minimister. When this was dry I added all my elements with the same multi medium. I've used vintage bookpage, images from Crafty Individuals and Alphastamps, Vintage ephemera from Hot off the press. I've also used some gold leaf and white Basic Grey transfers. And of course my stamped sentiment from Michelangelo.
This is my first Canvas and it was great fun.
For me paper challenges is all about having fun and try out new things, this way I learn and develop my skills, hopefully getting better.
For me Gingersnap Challenges is a great place to play, please join the fun.
